When I saw your pictures of the kids skating on the pond it brought back
    memories of when I was a kid in town.  It seems that the pond was always
    frozen by Christmas and we would all be skating through vacation week.  We
    could skate at night, too, because the town turned on the lights.

    Another thing that I remembered was that my father, Walter Cyr, would plow
    the snow off of the pond.  It took some doing, but I finally tracked down a
    newspaper clipping and picture of that.
