Unfortunately I don't have the date of these pictures but I think they were taken in 2001. For comparison, here are some of the area in 2007. The tall building on the left in the picture at the bottom was the pattern safe. It contained the wooden patterns for foundry castings when they weren't needed in the foundry. If they were kept in a building that burned, it would be a major disaster for the company, so the structure was built using a large amount of asbestos. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
